How I Win at Scrabble

Wouldn’t it be great to be a master of words and a clever strategist? I found out years ago that a game of scrabble makes me feel like one, especially when I’m winning! So I’ve grown to love scrabble and have spent happy moments with my mom and sister playing the game, although it’s seldom a competitive game and everything’s just for fun (we even let each other see our letters).
If you’re like me who wants to keep learning and uses strategies to move ahead in my real estate business, then scrabble can actually be a useful tool. This game is not only fun; it also teaches us a thing or two about finding the right words, planning a move and executing a good strategy. How to win at it? Try these tips.
Learn the two’s and three’s
One tip is to learn your two- or three-letter words. There are 124 two-letter words and 1,310 three-letter words. The most useful of these words are the ones that have high-scoring letters such as Q and Z.
For example, "Qi" is life force and "Zo" is a kind of Himalayan cattle. Make sure to use these words and letters at the right place and at the right time.
Plan ahead
Don’t play the highest-scoring word at every opportunity and then keep letters you’d never be able to play up to the end of the game. Balance the use of letters and keep track of what’s good to let go and what’s good to keep. That’s called planning and, much like in life, it will keep you afloat for the rest of the game and will spell your success!
